              Ba\u00f1os is home to countless waterfalls, the most famous being Pail\u00f3n del Diablo (Devil\u2019s Cauldron)<\/strong>, also known as the R\u00edo Verde Waterfall<\/strong>. This impressive cascade drops 80 meters (262 ft) with a depth of 20 meters (65 ft).<\/p>\r\n

              Enjoy the balconies overlooking the waterfall, the suspension bridge, and the Sky Crack<\/strong>, a naturally formed fissure that leads behind the waterfall\u2014must-see attractions that make Ba\u00f1os a unique destination.<\/p>\r\n

              We also recommend visiting Veil of the Bride Waterfall (Velo de la Novia)<\/strong>, named for its white waters resembling a bridal veil. It features a single drop of 40 meters (131 ft) and is located along the Ba\u00f1os\u2013Puyo road, near Llanganates National Park.               \r\n\r\nRiobamba \u2013 The Sultana of the Andes<\/strong>\r\n

              After lunch, we travel to Riobamba<\/strong>, capital of Chimborazo Province. Known as the \u201cCradle of Ecuadorian Nationality\u201d and the \u201cCity of Firsts,\u201d Riobamba is surrounded by volcanoes such as Chimborazo, Tungurahua, El Altar, and Carihuairazo<\/strong>.

              About a 30-minute drive away, we will visit the first Spanish Catholic church in Ecuador, dating back to 1534. After a 45-minute drive, we will enjoy a magical place known as the Palmira Dunes, a desert located in the highlands.<\/p>\r\n

              One of the most beautiful landscapes to be admired during this journey is the Devil\u2019s Nose (Nariz del Diablo), a vertical cliff rising 765 meters high. In 1902, railway engineers devised an ingenious way to climb this imposing mountain by carving a zigzag route into its slope (many lives were lost during the process). The train slightly diverts to the north, switches tracks, heads briefly south, and switches tracks again, slowly ascending and descending the Devil\u2019s Nose. (Currently, the train is not operating due to certain Ecuadorian regulations; however, if it is operational during your trip to Ecuador, we will include the train ride at no additional cost).<\/p>\r\n

              We will also visit the town of Alaus\u00ed, home to the old railway station. After lunch (picnic-style), our next stop will be the Ingapirca ruins.<\/p>\r\n

              Ingapirca, located in the southern Andes of Ecuador, specifically in the province of Ca\u00f1ar, is an archaeological complex of Inca origin. It is situated at 3,160 meters above sea level and 42 kilometers from Azogues, the capital of Ca\u00f1ar province. It is also located 89 kilometers north of the city of Cuenca. Ingapirca is a sacred site of Inca occupation in Ecuador.<\/p>\r\n

              It is considered the most important pre-Columbian archaeological site in the country and the best-preserved Inca architectural complex in Ecuador. Ingapirca is a Kichwa word meaning \u201cInca Wall.\u201d This site is a magnificent example of the Ca\u00f1ari\u2013Inca culture.<\/p>\r\n

              Covering an area of four hectares, it was an important religious, political, scientific, military, and administrative center during the Inca conquest. The Ingapirca ruins include a cemetery, solar observatories, roads, storage facilities, priests\u2019 dwellings, and an indigenous plaza. The constructions at Ingapirca are made of perfectly carved stones joined together with natural mortar.<\/p>\r\n

              Within the archaeological complex, the Temple of the Sun, also known as the Castle, is considered the main core. This temple features an oval platform, unlike the rest of the settlements, which are circular in shape. Ingapirca is a must-see site, as it is part of the Andean Road System, Qhapaq \u00d1an. Additionally, Ingapirca brought together the Ca\u00f1ari culture (500 AD) and unified various cultures through the Tahuantinsuyo.<\/p>\r\n

              Like Machu Picchu in Cusco (Peru), Ingapirca symbolizes the power of the Inca civilization. Ingapirca offers us a glimpse into the past and allows us to learn about the Ca\u00f1ari and Inca cultures. Be amazed by the different temple construction techniques, the precision of solar calculations, and the advanced aqueduct system. After this visit, we will continue our journey to the city of Cuenca (approximately a 2-hour drive).                 The highlands of Santa Cruz<\/strong> are home to a large wild population of giant tortoises<\/strong>, which roam freely across private lands and Gal\u00e1pagos National Park<\/strong> areas. During our visit, you will notice the difference in size between these tortoises and those found at other visitor sites.<\/p>\r\n

                There are 15 subspecies of land tortoises<\/strong> in the Gal\u00e1pagos Islands, four of which are extinct<\/strong>. These tortoises exhibit two distinct shell shapes: Saddleback<\/strong> and Dome-shaped<\/strong>.                   Considered the most iconic landscape of the entire archipelago<\/strong>, the view from the summit of Bartolom\u00e9 Island<\/strong>, featuring the famous Pinnacle Rock<\/strong> with the stark Santiago Island<\/strong> in the background, is well worth the walk along the wooden boardwalk. This volcanic scenery is often compared to a lunar landscape<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

                  Our snorkeling excursion may allow us to spot Gal\u00e1pagos penguins<\/strong>, white-tipped reef sharks<\/strong>, and playful sea lions<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

                    Santa Cruz is the most developed island in terms of human population<\/strong>, with its origins tracing back to the story of a man who was abandoned and survived in a former scientific settlement, as described in The Voyage of the Turtle<\/em>. The highlands of Santa Cruz<\/strong> form one of the largest green areas in the archipelago; for this reason, agricultural activities began in the early 1940s<\/strong> and have grown steadily ever since.<\/p>\r\n

                    The Charles Darwin Research Station<\/strong> was established in the town in 1959<\/strong>, significantly contributing to the advancement of scientific research and conservation projects.<\/p>\r\n

                    The island features six distinct vegetation zones<\/strong>, each very different from the others. The contrast between the arid coastal zone<\/strong>, located at the base of the island just a few meters above sea level, and the Scalesia and Miconia zones<\/strong>, found only on San Crist\u00f3bal and Santa Cruz at around 700 meters above sea level<\/strong>, is clearly reflected in the island\u2019s landscapes and ecosystems.                       This flat, uplifted island<\/strong> is an outstanding place to observe the magnificent male frigatebirds<\/strong> courting females with snapping sounds, bill clattering, trembling, and wing flapping, while proudly displaying their bright red, fully inflated throat pouches<\/strong>. It is also very likely to see blue-footed boobies<\/strong> performing their unique courtship dance, lifting and showing off their striking blue feet to attract a mate.<\/p>\r\n

                      Sea lions<\/strong>, swallow-tailed gulls<\/strong>, the crashing waves, and distant views of the Daphne Islands<\/strong> complete an unforgettable visit.<\/p>\r\n

                      The visitor site is located next to the nesting area of both magnificent and great frigatebirds<\/strong>, which remain in the trees throughout the year. Witnessing the courtship rituals of the blue-footed boobies<\/strong> is one of the main highlights of the experience.
